Landscape photography at Bowentown beach during Rotorua Camera Club Weekend

I like this shot because it doesn't follow the rule of thirds.
I get sick of following rules so I break out sometimes.
My work is often about moody  colours and soft surfaces than about having a whole pile of technical things ticked off.
But I realise if I'm going to start winning any PSNZ awards I  may have to change. Yawn
Either that or they need to get some artists on the judging panels.
They also need to get some younger edgier and female judges on the panel

This  was made at dusk while twisting the lens.
It's impressionist and ghostly.
The light was beautiful at Bowentown on dusk

This is a shot of Jing with arms up looking like an angel or a bird.
An improvement would be to clone out the tree and straighten the horizon, but I love the light.
Raewyn and Jing my roommates for the weekend.
An improvement would be to straighten the horizon because it looks a but like they are heading down hill.

I like the pink and the mist of this shot at Bowentown beach

The sunset was like strawberry icecream

Liked the sihouetted bushy grasses with the textured sky.
A lot of my work is about appreciating textures.

This rock and background like a lot.
The mint green of the sea is enticing.
T
I liked the big waves that were kind of like whales.

The milkiness of this appealed to me .
I used a graduated  ND filter on manual.
You use these filters to do those classic slowed down waterfall scenes.

 The Lonely Hut

Altered in colour efex pro.
Im getting a grauduated ND filter and a polarising filter this week.
I want to do some slowed down water shots because they look mystical.

Sulphur Point Rotorua, Photo Safari with photographer, Janet Keen.

This morning my husband and I went to Lake Rotorua Lake front and walked to Sulphur Point and back.
It's a nice easy track and took only an hour there and back by the time I'd stopped for photo's.
These are some of the shots I took.
The bird life is bountiful here.
If  I were a bird photographer from overseas this is where I would go to.
The range and proximity of birds is a photographers dream.

A fantastic bird Safari photo workshop could be run from here.

This is Momoko's first illustration with me.

It is Derwent Inktense watersoluable coloured Pencils on Water Colour Paper

Then we glued it onto some thin MDF board.

 This is kyles goldfish illustration.
Kyle has been with me since he was eight so I have lost count of what number painting this is.
He's entering it into an art competition.
He is using acrylic on stretched canvas.

This is his tropical fish illustration.
We are concentrating on giving his fish form though modelling light and shade.
I think maybe he could do a trout next, it's up to him.

Rotorua Vision board Specialist Janet Keen

 Vision Board Making Consultations.

I have run private vision board sessions for people for the past 6 years.
They last two  hours and cost $65.00 per person including materials.
In that time we make a mind map and do a collage, Have a talk about what is the next step and have some fun in my  creative studio.

My friend Lyndsay  is a trained counsellor and she came around and made one this week.

She did one with me at my place two years ago and she has accomplished practically everything on it

I have accomplished a lot on mine.

However the big one, a trip to Italy hasn't happened yet.
I am waiting with quiet anticipation for a large amount of money to fall out of the sky.
Someone needs to buy from me a $14,000 mosaic commission and I  would be off.
